Consciously Choose Hair Color
by Elaine Hewitt
Embarking on any kind of detox, cleanse or healthy regime takes a certain amount of courage and willfulness. It’s important, while not becoming obsessive, to be mindful of the direction one takes after a detox when considering which products to use on the skin and body, in particular, hair color.
Commercial hair color has up to 80 carcinogens in the color pigment alone, including formaldehyde, ammonia and various industrial toxins. While managing other aspects of our health via what we eat and drink, it’s important to understand those efforts can be undermined to some degree by using salon and drugstore haircolor, permanent waves, styling products, shampoos and conditioners.
Organic Colour Systems (OCS) has no toxins or carcinogens, is PETA-approved, gluten-free, non-GMO, and does not contain ammonia or formaldehyde. Unlike commercial products, aromatic oils are used to create a pleasant scent.
“I have been serving hair clients exclusively with OCS for eight years,” says stylist Elayne Hewitt. “In my constant relentless quest for the purest most effective and ethical professional product, OCS continues to stand alone in that arena.”
